The maximum speed allowed with an electric bike in Belgium is 25 km/h, which means that pedal assistance must stop at 25 km/h. Of course, you can pedal even harder to go faster. This is done without assistance.
With a speed pedelec, you are allowed to ride up to 45 km/h.
