An electric bike limited to 25km/h should not be registered. Insurance against damage and/or theft is therefore optional and completely at your own discretion. We do recommend insuring your bike if you often park it in public places (big city, shopping area, stations, etc.).
If you ride a Speed Pedelec that goes faster than 25km/h, you have to register it. You can find more information on the use of and legislation relating to this here: https://www.vlaanderen.be/speedpedelec
